I went here a couple weeks ago to do an inspection/oil change, the Caucasian male front desk rep helped me and when waiting for my truck he pulled me to the garage to show me something his mechanic found. He said my heater hoses needed to be change, because there was a leak. He quoted me $1200, I told him I would have to think about it as I already put $5K in my 05' Chevy Tahoe and not really want to put that kind of money anymore. Fast forward to this past Friday and I went to my mechanic I regularly go to when I lived closer to his location and he quoted me $400 dollars for the exact same job on my truck. This is just a cautionary review that don't take the first opinion on what needs to be fixed on your vehicle and take to it to a mechanic you can trust and won't try to take advantage of you.

Came here last week because my car has been blowing hot air and summer is coming, so I needed it fixed. They inspected my car, let me see the leak, explained to me what need to get fixed and also showed me a video. As a woman who have a problem trusting mechanics. I appreciate them for the transparency. The job was pricey and a big job (having to take the whole dashboard out) but I’m happy I trusted them to do so. They didn’t want to rush the job, so they offered me a loaner vehicle, which I was thankful for. The customer service was very good. I’m happy to have them in the neighborhood and trust them to use them again. Thanks Again! They really went ABOVE AND BEYOND

Went for oil change and tire rotation, and the caring technician pointed out and repaired something that would've cost dearly if it wasn't caught. Thankful for the bumper to bumper check.

Regarding their response: so what you're telling me is that you don't do due diligence with your initial quotes. I would hope your 'continued evaluating and looking for better repair options" would be step one in fair, accurate quoting instead of throwing numbers hoping to make a healthy buck off of me. Especially when that price difference is over a thousand dollars. I'm not buying it. Nice guys, but it's one of those shops that the more you say no, the lower the price drops. Over the course of an afternoon and them repeatedly reaching back out, my quote dropped by literally half from $2k to $1k a couple hundred dollars at a time. If you could do it for that price, why was that not the initial quote? I don't want to negotiate like some middle eastern bazaar, I want fair, up-front pricing from the get-go. Oh, and their final quote was still double what another quality, local shop quoted me and eventually did the work for. Just because it was A/C work and we're in Texas, this shop thought they could take me for a ride. If you're the type that likes to haggle and deal, this may be the shop for you, but NEVER accept their initial quote.

N. West Houston Auto is my go-to place for repairs and maintenance on my vehicles. They go above and beyond in customer service and in explaining the repairs to you. So thankful for them!
