Great service. Took time to address my concerns.

A week before Christmas was quoted $1500 for a thermostat replacement and $200 for a coolant flush for my Mazda CX5 engine code PO126. I took it to the Mazda dealership instead and they laughed at what I was quoted and told me they would have charged me around $700 tops but the thermostat is a known issue with my model and is covered under a warranty extension for the issue. My car was fixed and running better than ever in less than half a day. I will never return to NW Houston Auto Repair because of their extremely high prices and scare tactics.

Christian, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and I’m glad to hear your CX-5 is now repaired and driving well. I do want to clarify a few important points for anyone reading: When your Mazda came in with code P0126, our technician performed a visual inspection and confirmed a concern in the thermostat area. Based on what we saw, we built an estimate not just for the thermostat itself, but also for the water outlet assembly, fresh coolant, proper system bleed, and our standard parts-and-labor warranty. That more complete repair (thermostat and outlet) is what led to a higher estimate than simply replacing the thermostat alone, and this was explained at the time. As an independent repair facility, we do not have access to Mazda’s internal warranty extensions or goodwill programs. We don’t work for the dealership, so unless there is a published recall or a customer tells us they have coverage, we have to assume the repair is customer-pay and quote accordingly. In your case, it sounds like Mazda was able to cover the issue under a warranty extension, which is a great outcome for you — but it’s not something we can see or verify from our side when we’re writing an estimate. Regarding the idea that we use “scare tactics”: Our process is the opposite. We show customers exactly what we’re seeing — with photos and videos, and often by bringing them out to the vehicle in the bay when possible — and then provide a written estimate at no charge. There is never any obligation to buy from us. Many customers actually thank us for this level of transparency, especially when they discover an issue they didn’t know existed, even on vehicles recently serviced at a dealership. All that said, our customer reviews reflect the level of care and attention to detail that we strive to deliver for our customers, and we take that trust very seriously. Our goal is not to “laugh at” other shops’ pricing or to undercut anyone, but to recommend what we believe is a thorough, long-term repair and to stand behind it with a strong warranty. We’re genuinely glad your repair was ultimately covered and handled quickly. If you’d ever like to discuss your visit or our estimate in more detail, I’d be happy to go over it with you directly so you can see exactly what was included and why. In any case, we wish you safe, trouble-free driving going forward.

These guys are the only repair shop I will ever take my vehicles to. Brandon and Erick went over and beyond to communicate every detail to me via videos and phone calls. They totally went to bat for me with my extended warranty company so the communication was not in my shoulders. Isaac went over and beyond on my repairs and words cannot tell you how relieved I finally am. These guys are excellent and top of the line! They also do inspections when you are looking to purchase a new vehicle so give them a call... you can thank me later!

Always great service and good people!

Unfortunately the staff and manager want to sell you a repair you don't need! I took my car for simple Auto certification and after checking the car, the manager mentioned you have bad oil leak and your seals under neat the car need to be changed and it will cost $1500 !! any way I was very disappointed and took my car some were else and they checked and told me there is no leak!! The owners must check the managers regularly or maybe they don't care!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. For transparency to anyone reading: both of these one-star reviews were left by the same individual using two different Google accounts, about the same visit and the same recommendation. We only have records of one vehicle visit matching the details you’ve described. Regarding your concern that we “try to sell repairs that are not needed”: When your vehicle was in our shop for inspection/oil service, our technician noted what was believed to be a significant oil leak and recommended further repair. Our process is to document concerns, explain the potential risks, and provide an estimate — not to pressure anyone into authorizing work. In fact, we take pictures and videos of everything on every single vehicle that comes through our shops, and when customers are waiting in our lobby, we often bring them out to the vehicle if we believe there is a safety concern that needs to be shown in person. We document everything, and there is never any obligation to buy from us. The vast majority of our customers express real appreciation for this, because many either didn’t know there was a problem with their vehicle or no one had ever shown them before — including customers who just had work done at a dealership. You declined the repairs, which is absolutely your right, and no additional services were performed or charged for. Another shop later told you they did not see an active leak at that time. Without inspecting the vehicle again, we can’t speak to exactly what they saw, whether the area had been cleaned, or whether the issue was a seep, residue, or a misinterpretation on our end. What we can say is that there is no incentive in our shop to “make up” repairs. Our advisors and managers do not work under any kind of “quota or fired” policy, and we do not pay bonuses for simply selling high-dollar tickets. Their responsibility is to err on the side of caution when they believe they see something that could become a problem, especially with potential oil leaks. We take accusations of dishonesty seriously because our reputation is built on trust, long-term relationships, and transparent recommendations. Simply giving a brief scroll through our reviews will show you that thousands of customers trust us because of the quality and transparency we provide. If you would like to resolve this constructively, we’re more than willing to re-inspect your vehicle at no charge and review the findings with you in person — including any documentation or notes you received from the other shop. Please contact the ownership/management team directly so we can look at the car together and either confirm our original concern or, if we were mistaken, own that and learn from it. We genuinely wish you safe driving wherever you choose to service your vehicle, and we remain committed to honest, ethical repair recommendations for our community.
