They're fine overall. I do understand a diagnostic fee and I agreed to it so I really can't complain, but upon asking other mechanics on the area, I think I would have found a place to not have to pay the $160 fee. And if you're needing a transmission, I would also say, please call around to specialty transmission shops, the price was 2K dollars less at every place I called. This place is definitely not the cheapest, which doesn't mean their work is bad of course, but in this economy, calling around is not going to hurt you. When a place provides that free initial assessment, or even a coupon or percentage off of future work once you pay that fee, or SOMETHING, it truly can create a customer for life. I would go back to a place that did something like that, you want to feel like your business matters. I don't see us returning in the future for those reasons. I can't really comment on the quality of the work because we couldn't afford the $5,800-9,800 transmission quote. It is what it is. (Specialty shops run about $3,500 to $4,500 for same work, in case that helps anyone in the market, and yes I'm very sure, I had it looked at and assessed for free elsewhere after my visit.)
